Old Tow Car of the Year

I see mentioned the phrase “tow car of the year” Not sure if this is purely a Caravan Club thing or if Magazines did there own? Anyway does anyone have any information please? My next step is a search on EBay or similar for old magazines, but thought you lot might have some answers? Particularly interested in the year(s) the Austin Maxi acquired the “title”.
