Worth using the feedback section to point up the wording of the t&Cs. I used the recent survey to complain about their lack of clear definition etc.

I don’t know about site prices in general but I see the pop-up site fees are silly and I notice the membership fee is up to £59 and the non-member additional cost is now £15 P/N.🤯

Either pay it or don’t , it’s not compulsory

if you joined you would save £15 extra nightly fee cool

Yes I just noticed that. I assume they updated it in last nights maintenance. I’m sure it was £13 yesterday.

It doesn’t affect me at all, Husky. I thought you realised that.

I was posting to let others know.

I think you’re right, Steve. It’s a given that fees rise every year but I thought there was usually some sort of announcement. Perhaps I’m wrong🤷🏻‍♂️

It was £13 a few days ago, because I checked it to help out a non Member who had made a post, suggesting that joining if staying for a few nights would be cost effective.

Club has given itself Carte Blanche to do whatever suits with pricing now🤷‍♀️

Membership costs have just increased so it's now £15 extra for non members per night, cheapest option to join is by direct debit.

It is no longer a members club it is a multi million pound leisure? company that for a fee will give you a discount card for the sites and access to some other benefits

    A bit like  Costco

Unless you have been paying when it was a club  for 50yrs or more

It's detailed on page 18, Brue, in case you missed it. That's what led to the posts about the supplement👍

I put the details on again, in case anyone had missed it. I contributed to this thread earlier on, I noted the Deleted User "yesterdays news" comment which followed mine  but some will be on catch up if they haven't spotted updates.

So are Tescos penalising shoppers for not having a club card or Sainsbury's shoppers for not having a Nectar card. In the leisure industry Butlins give a discount for members of their club. CAMC membership gives you access to a whole range of products and services and if none of those are suitable for you don't join.

At least you do not have to pay for a Tesco Clubcard, or a Nectar card, so not comparable .

OK then think about a bank account where to get certain benefits one has to keep a certain amount in the account?

    +1

There are plenty of examples where people join a club to access their services at a reduced rate and/or to gain some advantage.

If, a big if really as a penalty is a punishment or handicap given to someone for either breaking a law, contract, or rule so I can't see how it applies to using a club site, then it is one that many hundreds of thousands gladly pay over and over again. I personally would suggest leaving it to those that do as you say, no one is forced to join or use club sites?

And before anyone posts to say that staying at a club site is a punishment then you have only yourself to blame for going in the first placesmile

Actually for me I'm still in credit from the offers over 23 years so membership has cost me nothing.

Not for our Halifax account......which is now just an ordinary current account.

We do not need the extras that a "paying" or minimum balance account  requires, when you get to be 80, as I am, there are too many restrictions.

Benefits are not for we old codgers it seems!

What restrictions? Just having a minimum amount in at all times?

Swop accounts - we get 5% interest for the first £1500 which is a benefit I'll want no matter how old I get.

Yes, have that on some of our other accounts, but gave up keeping £5k in Halifax as can do better elsewhere.

OH has 7% on a monthly saver.

By restrictions, I mean that things like travel insurance they give you do not apply when one is over 80.

Plenty of accounts offering reasonable interest these days

We are fine with that, we do not actually use Tesco that much, and Sainsburys even less.   We take advantage of the offers when we can.

I don’t mind Tesco having some of my details if it makes shopping so much easier, and, the Club Card prices v non Club Card on a lot of items is quite significant, and adds up on a big shop. We average around £10 saving on a £100 shop, depending on items in basket, and that’s  before the points scheme, which we usually triple in value with their partners. We once did a weekend in London using Tesco vouchers to access places like Hampton Court, Tower of London, river cruises on Tesco offers. I shall probably treat myself to a new Fitbit, or a years membership of RHS with my current points, haven’t made my mind up yet🤔. Club has lots of similar offers as well (although not as good as it used to be, too much Go Ape for us 🤣) so we have always got our Membership back on things like NYM railway, Jorvik Viking Museum, Eden Camp, etc…. In the past.

I don’t have a problem with Club charging non Members extra for a pitch. Only the dim wouldn’t do the maths and join if their stay was longer than three/four nights. Folks wanting one or two nights,🤷‍♀️ It’s up to them.

I am a big supporter of giving my details out, Do you want cookies?✔️, yes I do I get a heads up of all the things I like when they are available. I do know folk of the tin foil hat flavour who think ‘they’re’ out to get them & they do freak out over big brother stuff, which is their choice👍🏻. Me?, I’m also a fan of CCTV everywhere too.

And as the reported the demographic of this club it is an expensive option to take out travel insurance which it seems is another point that is mentioned by this club without it seems any thoughts or consideration if at our age we need to cancel at short notice because of age related problems or as happed again this week an opportunity to take up a short notice hospital clinic appointment because of a cancellation rather than waiting until next year as first bookedsurprised
