Just read that, after a long illness, Leslie Phillips has passed away at the age of 98.

    Yes sad news. One of those actors you grow up with, first the Navy Lark and then the Carry on films. He also appeared in some quite serious roles as well. 

    Left hand down a bit!!!!

    And yet another fine character actor gone,  sad indeed but at least he had a good innings
