CAMC Insurance services auto-renewal

Motorhome policy was due for auto-renew, so 7 days before this date I called them to say "I did not want to renew my policy".
They had already auto-renewed and taken the money, so they refunded me the full amount less an administration fee.
Whether an auto-renew comes under the 14-day cooling off period seems to be a grey area (after googling).
Very unhappy.
