What I thought was interesting was that it uses Calor as a supplier. If the Club went down the same route I could see a massive increase in the sales of refillable systems! I don't see it happening as the Club probably wouldn't want to commit the staff hours to it and then we would have the debate on whether people off site could fill up!

I recently filled up at a depot, no staff involved David. Help yourself and go to the office to pay. Much the same as any garage.

It also said it was an attended service

If? either club went down the same route that would I would expect be the same

    Good new.
Our Marquis dealer said some time ago that they were looking to install LPG pumps although this particular branch decided not to go ahead due to the cost of installation.

The Depot I last used to fill up had a very simple pump system from an above ground storage tank, something like the attached pic although the outlet had a counter on it which you set to zero before you used it. The counter ticked over and recorded the number of litres you had to pay for.

I cannot imagine it cost anywhere near as much as a typical garage installation.

I would think more at stake would be safety issues if such a system was on a campsite.

It doesn’t help that the UK pumps are awkward to use and the attendant has to be called upon frequently. The problem is that the nozzle has an outer sleeve that has to be rotated before engaging with the vehicle. Then of course you have to hold the trigger whilst pressing the button. I only fill about once a year and usually struggle because I forget how to use it.
If anybody is interested, the French system is far simpler, plus they have a pump at every autoroute service station (adapter needed).

That is true of the system in Shell garages but if I recall correctly those of BP are much easier to use. I have only used Shell stations in the last couple of year so cannot recall why I found BP easier to use.
