Unwanted children

I have just spent some time going through “my bookings” on my pad to check the actual price with surcharge, as my confirmation emails are pre increase. I was surprised to find that 2 children had attached themselves to our party at a cost of £6 a night, on two of the bookings. Not only that, we could arrive after midnight and before 2 am and depart between 10pm and midnight. I checked our original confirmations and the addition of children was not my mistake. Might it be something to do with changes related to the new booking system?

I have amended them now and all is well again. Arrival back to 13:00 and a significant price reduction.

It could be worth checking those bookings.

It doesn’t fill me with confidence in relation to automatic payment before arrival on the new system.

I think I may have mentioned this a few weeks ago on another discussion. It seems an odd thing to have happened as I would have thought the majority of bookings were for two people, certainly at some times of year.

Just checked ours, all OK. Only have one booking, made after the increases. Thanks Steve.

This is not a holiday experience we are involved in thankfully, but I hope it goes as well as it can for those who are.

I have to admit that I have never checked the cost of my bookings, except for one night last month when I noticed that I had inadvertently booked a non standard pitch at Knaresborough and couldn't rebook a standard pitch as they were full, so I went to Thirsk for the night instead, saving myself £20.00.  Having read your post, I will in future always check the cost.  I would be surprised if the new system does not have any glitches at all, but it does seem strange to add 2 children to your booking.

Have checked our 3 winter bookings and all is well, no unwanted company and arrival times during daylight.

Thanks for flagging this up Steve.  As you say, it doesn't instill confidence, if gremlins like this are happening, for a system taking payment in advance.  At the moment our payment card details are not on the system and I'm not sure I would want my credit/debit card details held on the new system; with the likes of eBay and Amazon there is the option to remove any payment details, I wonder whether the new system here will have that option, once the deposit has been paid.

All checked and all correct, but I'll keep an eye out for any changes. Actually I do have unwanted children that I pay for but they're still on!

We also have quite a few as we tour differently since getting a MH. There were 11 bookings in total, 2 of which had children added. It was the same site in fact 6 weeks apart.

I have not bothered checking the ones for next year. I will do that after they get migrated over. If that ever comes to pass.😀 Hopefully it’s a fairly rare error, otherwise there could be a few indrawn breaths when folk are asked to pay an unexpected sum at check in. 😂

Just checked my booking for Sandringham at Christmas and fortunately, all is well and no unexpected visitors.

What did strike me, though is that a week at Sandringham on the CAMC site is only a few pounds less than two weeks on this beautiful CS we are currently on - 2 acres, 5 vans, in a pretty ancient orchard with a stream running along the bottom, semi-serviced pitches and a toilet block that puts most hotels to shame, wonderful peace and quiet and adult only. Shame it closes in October!

from the title i thought this post was about other peoples kids playing around other peoples pitches and not thier own whilst mum and dad have a lovely quiet holiday...anyway thanks for the heads up, will be checking.
