BMW X3 21 reg. Hill Hold stays on.

I drive with Hill Hold in operation all the time. However there have been several occasions when on trying to move off the brakes stay on and refuse to release unless i switch off and start again. Has anyone else had the same problem.

    I booked the car in to my local BMW dealership on Monday. There were no faults logged. They contacted BMW who suggested that there was too much freeplay in the braking system. Adjustments were made and so far the fault has not happened again. i will wait a few weeks to make sure the problem has gone and then update on this post.

    I assume your car's hill hold/assist works on the hand/parking brake then 🤷‍♂️ it does seem a strange one if slack in the system causes it to stay/stick on. My Merc's 'HOLD' uses the foot brake's hydraulics.
