    Going back on topic undecided

There doesn't see to be a consensus about banning groundsheets on club sites? I am sure that there was a leaflet about using or suggesting only breathable groundsheets? I can't find it or any mention anywhere so far?

I like grass, but let's face it, the attention it needs to look good is considerable. At times we use a groundsheet, a breathable one, but this is not perfect and still has an effect. Motor Movers spinning vans on the spot along with emptying tanks also has it's effect over time.

If the club wishes to get maximum use out of it's pitches then surely they should be "fit for purpose", so the member can use them as intended and paid for by van or Motorhome and awning with carpet/groundsheet if wanted.

This would mean a gravel pitch large enough for van and awning to sit on. It could be used all year without an issue.

Yes the club has that on all the sites I use already and all the ones that have HS pitches, yes they are used all year

C&MC-Where help is given easily & happily-certainly not vouchsafed. I remember it well from 2012 when I joined-I knew tugging, I knew loading safety & etiquette but I knew nothing of C&MC sites or how they operated until I joined CT & asked a multitude of questions & got helpful answers👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻

It pays to talk. ,I just wonder how we managed in all the years we used this club or other organisations sites before CT?

I’m thinking life was way more simpler back then👍🏻, no advice needed just a ball of twine a set of 3 hammers & a moist mouth👏🏻👏🏻

It is not that far back., when campers would help others ,especially those new to the lifestyle, but now it is rare ,although there is now more curtain twitching ,if the television is not on,

I am talking about when it was quite common to help others instead of the trend now as I posted curtain twitch rather than assist  or give advise if a long timer

They still do JVB and you'll find ralliers form quite a big group of CAMC still gathering in the old tradition which originally formed CAMC.

The groundsheet debate has been going on for a long time too, there doesn't appear to be a solution except to hope that if people can manage without them on grass it will help keep pitches open and in better condition.

JV, I’m(personally) talking about 2012 for me which is but a decade ago I didn’t even know how the power cord fitted into the bollard🤷🏻‍♂️, but some folk noticed a noob from a distance. By the time I was done I had a crowd & an invite to a geordies BBQ, & no I hadn’t even considered an awning or a groundsheet then👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻

You and me both cool I have lost count of the times after we were advised many moons ago that on the cc site bollards now being replaced you had to turn the plug to the. right to get power'

And many of the latest bollards now you need to reset the trips to get power as they trip when removing your  plug

    Err, pardon?

Are you perhaps confusing me with another poster?

I agreed with you about people helping others on club sites as well as non club sites but made no mention of curtain twitchers. You can't pin that one on me 🤣
