Sorento safety recall

I got home to find a letter from Kia regarding a safety recall on my Sorento:

It has been found that a malfunction of the Positive Temperature Coefficient (PTC) heater may occur due to potential overheating and damage to the heater connector terminal. In extreme cases the connector can melt, with  a possible risk of fire.

Now I haven't a clue what that is or even that I had one, but I'll get it booked in for a free check and upgrade which they say will take 30 minutes. 

I'm slightly worried that being 30 minutes in a showroom full of shiny new cars I might come out  with more than just a free upgrade!

Anyone else received one?

    Just in case anyone else is booking their car in, I rang and booked it for next week no problem but I got the hard sell about other products they could do while it's in, a fuel additive that flushes something and improves mpg for a 50% off price of £11, an something anti bacterial cleaning of the air conditioning for £20 and they started something else but I just cut them off and said I just wanted the recall work doing.

    It's not a bad idea to use an "air con bomb" in your car from time to time. But its easily something you can do yourself for a lot less than £20.

    Modern fuels don't really need additives.

    A couple yrs back my Dad's oldish Sedona was recalled for something similar .... as it was it didn't get done in his ownership as the car was SORNED at the time

    I have not had a recall.What year is your car?

    September 2017, the letter said it was based on the specified chassis range of potentially affected vehicles, so your's might not be affected fluffy
