Profile pics (again)
Morning all. I’m aware there has been threads on the subject of profile pics before, but they’re all quite old and the advice/technology may have changed. I’ve had the same profile pic since I first registered to use CT years ago. At that time one had to use a desktop rather than a tablet to add a profile pic, so here I am sat with both desktop and iPad trying to give my profile a new spin by adding a different photo, and failing miserably.
I log in, go to CT, go to the CT profile page, select Edit and get taken straight to my main profile page (contact details, outfit details, bookings etc.). Even the Edit your details link on the main profile page doesn’t lead anywhere. I’ve tried several times on both devices to no
Does anyone have any ideas? Am I doing something wrong, or is the site just not working?

So far I've not been able to change my profile photo via my phone and I've always reduced the photo size first 600x800. Just seeing now if it works and if there is a delay. I can post other photos successfully from phone files. It still doesnt look as though the system can cope.

I have just supposedly changed mine. Using an iPad iOS 15.4.1. The photo does have to be less than 2MB, otherwise it is rejected and remember to go down to the bottom of the page and save.
Although it’s certainly changed in my profile ( I have been back a couple of times to check) it has not flowed through to here yet and the old one is still showing.Edit Cleared the cache and its updated.

Bandgirl - Sorry I can't help with ipad but found I could still manage to change profile pic the old way using laptop and Paint – reducing photo to 600 pixels, saving then clearing browser history and log in CAMC. As someone said remember to save profile changes by scrolling to bottom. Also added photo (600 pixels) to post.

I changed mine on an iPad not long ago and it worked OK.
(It’s the same pic but cleaned up in case anyone wonders).

Thanks Steve, I’ll have another try at some point. If I could get the Edit button on my CT profile to link to my CT profile and not my main membership profile it would be a start. It doesn’t matter whether I use iPad or desktop pc, the outcome is the same. The only things I could update is my contact details/preferences and outfit. Nothing relating to CT at all.

BG, I find it only works for me if I use My Profile at the top of the page followed by My Profile Info. The My Profile on the right doesn’t lead to the same place.

Yes, TW, I think that’s the key. Although the Edit button on the CT profile takes you to the main profile, it’s not editable from there. I’ve just gone straight to the My Profile at the top of the screen and it has allowed me to change the picture. I have also saved it so, hopefully, it’ll come up soon 🤞🏻

I’ve cleared the history and can see the new one now. It’s one of those David Austin roses that we were given as a present for our 25th wedding anniversary in 2019 but I’m blowed if I can remember the name of it. I expect it’ll come to me when I’ve hit Reply.

I have changed my profile picture on my PC and clicked on 'Save'. The photo has changed in my profile but not when I come to post anything. From comments above, it seems that emptying the cache may be the way forward but which cache and how do I do it on a PC?

It’s your Browser Cache. Not used CT on a PC for years but on my Apple devices using Safari I go into the browser menu and select history. It then gives me the option of clearing last hour, today, today and yesterday and all time. I would assume it similar on a PC. Clearing it will log you off, so you will need to log in again. Hopefully then you will see your new Avatar.
I have just cleared my cache and logged back on and your Avatar has changed from your badges to one of you, I presume. It is in the system just needs flushing out.👍

Let me know if it works!. I have been trying for over a year now to put in a profile pic. Uploads ok, shows in profile, but doesn't stay there. (and yes I do click "save"). So I exit profile, with pic still there. Doesn't appear in my posting, go back to profile, pic has disappeared. I have cleared the cache on my pc numerous times. Makes no difference. I've given up.
