Communications Preferences
It would appear that this function, which was reported as not working recently is still not working. For some like me who have changed preferences to receive updates and emails nothing appears to be functioning. For instance, did the e mails regarding price increaseas go out to all who have opted in? If so there maybe many like me who are missing out. If this preference isn't working correctly or opting out is chosen where are the updates on the main web site for all to see?

I've reported your post brue, and been cheeky too - copy below
Can this please be looked into and a rapid response instigated to resolve the issue please?
Maybe this could be notified on the thread, and the server error issues revisted and a suitable response on that thread too? Thank youNot holding my breath

Can I ask if you have any UK site bookings? Anyone who does I would have thought it was fairly important they get notification of the prices changes regardless of their preferences?

I'm bringing this thread up again as since my original query and up date the system has not continued to work. I don't know how many others out there have opted in to receive CAMC communications but aren't getting them? Some have indicated recently (like myself) no communications are arriving.
I've reported this fault again recently.
Some members have indicated on this thread about deposits and a previous one that the system isn't working. LINK
Is it possible to have a response from CAMC regarding this technical failure?

I have contacted Rowena about your on going problem. It would seem that those of us who historically have opted to receive email communications don't have a problem but those that update their preferences from now don't seem to update. If the system is working correctly you should immediately see a change?

We have been members for nigh on 40 years and have always been opted in for emails since the option became available, but have never received any yet but here is hoping.

I guess the proof you are getting them is if you receive the monthly news shots. However, they are nothing to write home about unless you like reading about the Clubs' services every month. After a cursory glance they go in my delete bin. I wished they would restrict these mail shots to genuine news. Its no wonder some members didn't/don't want mail shots.

Just for information I have today received the June Members offer email.

PS Just looked at my own communication preferences and I have nothing ticked which means I get everything!

We have everything as well. I think with something like the CC, which we use a lot, this is the best option. It’s easy enough to bin anything we aren’t interested in. It’s just a shame they haven’t got round to sending something about starting taking deposits and delay in releasing June 23. Just a thought, I assume surface type selection will start on the same date? I believe that was the original intention.

I am not really sure why people are bothered by receiving the odd email from the Club , even if it was a couple of times a week. Most of the emails I receive (from all recipients) go into the recycling bin but there are times when an odd email is really useful. I don't find sorting through 10/20 emails a day particularly daunting! So the odd one from the Club, probably no more than a couple a week, is going to cause me a problem.

Do you still get requests for comments about your CAMC site stays David? Originally I found this was a good way to give feedback but I stopped receiving them along with everything else. We get a lot of emails every day and I signed out of CAMC communications to avoid adding to the pile. However, out of interest and hoping to hear updates about the new system I signed in again but along with others have not received anything. I also find reminders about site stays useful and receive them from the other club. Are these reminders sent out with CAMC too?

From memory these are the sort of emails I get from the Club:-
General offers
Reminders of upcoming site visits
News Updates
Doesn't seem to happen for every site visit but I regularly get asked to complete a survey on my visit.
Obviously confirmation of bookings but these are probably outside the remit of general preferences?

I cannot remember ever looking at my communication preferences before, but I might have done, I suppose, when I re-joined the club, after some years out, in 2010.
Anyway, I just looked at them and there were several criteria where I had not opted out, but in respect of which I have never had any communications. The only communications I get are booking acknowledgements and those rather annoying "You'll be in before you know it" emails (the title of these always struck me as bizarre) or, more recently it seems, "A Helpful Reminder About Your Trip", which come much earlier - too early really and are just irritating. I don't need either. I do not forget my bookings and I always check stuff like earliest arrival times (except I know these are now all the same) before I leave. I did receive emails about the price increases for bookings that I had made, which is good.
My preferences showed that I had opted out of the monthly club magazine, but I have been receiving it every month.
I have made amendments, opting out of everything except club and UK site surveys and reviews, and the club magazine. Perhaps now the magazine will stop coming!

We are still not getting the emails that others have said they get.
We have gone through the list on My Profile and selected the correct boxes.
We do get emails if we make a booking or amend or cancel one. Other than that we have to rely on CT for information.

I was in the same position earlier in the year when I found out through the forum that there was a monthly newsletter and I wasn't receiving it. I checked My Profile and the correct boxes where selected. I emailed the club and received a reply to say my profile had been checked and the right boxes where selected, Still no newsletter. I had to wait till the next month to find out I still didn't get newsletter. Emailed club again and received a reply to say "my email contained capital letters, maybe that's the problem." Eventually I received a phone call while I was on a site setting up to say the settings on another server were set to not receive emails, and did he have my permission to change them. I said yes and I have been receiving the newsletters ever since. Looks like Club servers aren't talking to each other.

Thanks Burgundy, that is interesting to hear. Although I have been in touch with CAMC I have had no further response and feel that there are probably many like me who are left in limbo. Obviously this is a major fault and CAMC are not taking any action to sort it out. Like TG I have re-set things several times but it's obviously going out into the ether!
If TG doesn't mind I will report her post to highlight the lack of action. If CAMC intend upgrading their booking system soon it would be good if everything could "talk" in fact if it doesn't the system is never going to work!

Nothing at all since my last post, I wonder how many other members are in the dark too,!
Assuming quite a few will opt out and a proportion like us are on another CAMC planetary system is there any resolution in the offing?
PS not that I want lots of e mails but if I've opted in it would be good to see updates.
