Anyone fitted one of these systems to their car?  Was it what you expected and were there any associated problems with the cars original systems

Android Auto and Apple Car Play need to be built into your car system. Changing a head unit to add one that has AA / ACP is subject to the same issues of integration of changing any head unit.

Thanks CT I know all that, I was wondering if anyone had practical experience and did they encounter any unexpected difficulties or operating issues

With which part? Adding a head uint, or using AA/ACP in an existing car? Would help to know which car as the implementations are different with different OEMs.

You need to take your car to a car audio centre (not Halfords!!) and get expert advice on which one is best for your car. The best thing about these IMHO is that you're using Google Maps or Waze, so your mapping is always bang up to date. No more Garmin costs for updates.

Perhaps my question was a little vague.  Has anyone self installed one of these systems using the kit appropriate to your car make and model.  Did the interface with your car controls work OK I.e. reversing camera, front camera, steering wheel controls etc. I’ve done a lot of research including tutorials etc., but there is nothing like personal experience
