The Wheel Caravan Park
Has anyone used this site one kilometre south of the Falkirk Wheel, near the Kelpies, Union and the Falkirk and Clyde canals? We have booked it for a couple of days for its excellent location, but knowingly (judging by google maps) its just a massive hardstanding oversized layby with leccy and facilities.
Will suit us for the close by visits of interest, but would be interested in any actual members comments that have stayed there.

Looked a bit like a car park when we walked round the area. If you want a good site not too far away one could do a lot worse than staying on the site at Beecraigs Country Park at Linlithgow, run by the council.

I overnighted at the Falkirk Wheel last summer which cost £15 just for the tarmac. The Kelpies would have been better as it was only £5 for their tarmac and I could have got a floodlit photo as well. More space at the Falkirk Wheel if you wanted to stop with a caravan.

Thanks both, I think either of the car parks are more suited to the Campervan/Motorhome than my outfit. We are passing through and thought 3 nights at this specific sight, although just a glorified carpark would be fine for its very close proximity, electric hookup and within walking distance of our interests.
Beecraigs is certainly the better site but too far away unless we take the car, if possible we like to walk.
We'll rough it for a couple of days

Plenty of good walking at Beecraigs, so save it for a later date.
