Thanks for the link KJ. It fits in with the coffee thread. After discussing it on there I found the web site. Although for me, our pod machine remains for occasional use only. My cafetiere is so easy to use and the grains go in our compost bin with just one bag a week which unfortunately won't recycle at present!

It’s a good resource if you live in or very near a City. Sadly, we would have to drive to recycle, but we will continue doing what we do, empty out grinds and recycle aluminium pods.

Having looked in our postcode, there is no kerbside recycling, as expected, but plenty of places we can drop off return bags at.  Londis and Spar shops, and other Yodel drop off points.

We got some return bags with our last order,  but  we plan to order more (free) as the bags do not hold as much as they say if you are using the thicker latte pods.

We also have a place not that far from DD that takes both the pods AND the plastic wrappers for recycling, which is better.   This predates this new scheme, so whether it will continue, we do not know.
