I absolutely loved all the pictures in the Happy Place Competition. Congratulations to the worthy winner.

Keswick is also one of our favourites. Shame the Club has no sites there.

The CAMC seem to have 'missed the boat' in Keswick on a couple of occasions  - Walker Park , which they had for one season when it was a football ground and the CCC had the Oval and a couple of years ago when the CCC bought the site at Braithwaite Village a couple of miles from Keswick well served by the local bus services  and they didn't win the lease for the site at Braithwaite Fold at Bowness again the CCC getting the lease.

But CAMC do have the lovely Borrowdale site on Derwentwater where Keswick is easily reached by car or bus (and the launches when they are all back in action.) So all is not lost. smile

I agree brue, we used Manesty for many many years with the caravan ,but we now find having a motorhome , and slightly more mature in years which tends to inhibit walking somewhat , that the CCC sites in Keswick more convenient. But I agree Borrowdale is a brilliant site for wildlife, scenery and fell walking.

A lot of the "happy place" photos were taken on no facility sites. smile A lot weren't even on sites...wink

AD. Mine is on Yell, a happy place too. smile

I think the main photo on the comp was very familiar to people who love the lakes, similar photos are used in tourist promotions, a very "photogenic spot." Perhaps the club breathes a sigh of relief it doesn't have to cope with the floods suffered by the Keswick sites! The Coniston site isn't far away in a good setting close to the lake but well above it....and it has facilities. wink

But that doesn't explain why you claim that it's a shame?

Yep and that lets you choose a site to suit you. I like the non-fac sites, you don’t, but how good that we can each find what suits us👍🏻
