Collecting new caravan soon, noseweight query

Hi and I’ll start by apologising in advance if this is covered elsewhere. At some point, my caravan will be built and a collection date arranged. My query is this;

there will be no ‘equipment’ in the van and I’m concerned the noseweight will be miles out. I don’t want to fall foul of an unstable caravan on what will be my first tow in nearly 30 years! Dealer said don’t worry about it, just collect and tow it home, which I’m not overly happy about? Anyone available to shed a bit of light on this please?

CARAVAN Eldiss avante 554 (2022)

MiRO is 1260kg (+ 33kg for motormover fitted)

Max hitch weight 100kg

MTPLM 1500kg

TOWCAR Audi A6 2.0tdi ultra S line avant (2016)

TOW HITCH MAX 100kg

TOWING MAX 1877 kg

All the above is how I understand things 🤔 I will be using most of the user payload when I get the van home and loaded up but the worry is what it will be upon collection? Or am I overthinking this?

    It all depends on the layout of the caravan ,as to what the nose weight will be when empty

    Hi and thank you. I guess things are never as simple as you think? 🙄 I’ve not been able to find a manufacturer figure relating to MiRO (ex factory) this would have at least given me a rough idea. I can take my own noseweight gauge with me to measure on the day but won’t have all the gear to put into the van and shuffle about to get it right (and safe).

    Just take your time & you'll be fine. It might have been a while since you last towed, but it's like riding a bike  😉

    I'm guessing that 70/80kg would give you a baseline for a stable tow. A full size spare should weigh in at about 22kg. If you can take an awning with you which will typically weigh in at 25kg then you should quite easily be able to juggle the nose wight.

    Thanks, I have the awning already so not a big deal to take it with me when I collect the van. I’ll take the noseweight gauge too and go from there. It’s one piece of equipment and can be easily moved forward/backwards to balance things out. Good idea 👍

    Thank you all for the comments, I suppose I needed reassurance more than anything else?
