Motor Mover Signal Range

I've a purpleline ego motor Mover fitted toy van. Works ok but..... Only when I am within an inch or 2 of the control unit. Any idea how to improve this as it makes difficult to navigate when using. I've taken to actually touch the remote against the van wall to ensure I don't fall out of range but then I'm blind to navigate

That is not correct. First step would be to try new batteries in the remote. Failing that, did you have it fitted or do you have the original receipt.

    Hi

I'd second eriba, try changing the remote batteries. With a new battery I can stand a good five meters away from van all the way around while positioning. Also make sure the leisure battery is in good order.

Does this happen all the time? I ask because actually have this problem but only at our storage, both arriving and departure so nothing to do the caravan's battery state which I first thought it was, and so do a quite a few others there. It's not as bad as the OP but we have to be within two/three feet or so of the base unit while anywhere else like at home or on site it's quite a way out.

Apparently we've been told it's all to do with the telephone mast very near to the site? near as in next door. The signals there, so we are told, interfere with the remote's signal?

Not sure this is true or something else but something is affecting a number of remotes there.

Do you have to be that close for the remote to pair with the receiver on startup?

Mine has a small aerial attached to the receiver under the front seat and close to the battery box, has the aerial become detached, knocked by storage items etc?

You have a problem. I was going to suggest what Metheven has said. Check Aerial on Control Box and also change battery in remote.  Did it used to work ok or is this a new problem?

I understand they had problems at the old club site at Crystal Palace were the TV transmitter would operate some caravan movers. Looking at pictures of the model you have as Metheven says it has a small aerial I would check that out

Perhaps it's the close proximity of other movers on closely stored vans and it wants to be sure it's got the right one.
