Hi i am hoping to have our gas system changed to take auto LPG as we are planning a long winter trip in the Alps. Does anyone know if two 11Kg Gaslow bottles will fit in a Bailey Alliance SE gas locker? Many thanks

to clarify my question above about the size of the gas locker.

I have measured the locker and in theory they will fit but with minimal clearance. Engineering tolerances are not specified for the gas bottles and it is very difficult to measure the radius of the back of the locker so practice may not match theory. hence the question. thanks

Perhaps if you give the size of the locker it will give others a chance to compare with their own lockers containing 11Kgm cylinders and you may get responses that way?

I have an Alliance 66-2 and I have two 6kgs Calor bottles. I think it would be a struggle to get two Gaslow 11kgs bottles in. Have you looked at the Gas It range, they do refillable bottles as well as underslung tanks.

Are you on Facebook? If you are it might be worth joining the Bailey Motorhome Owners Group, it has several thousand members so you have got a good chance of someone having fitted them.

I don’t know if it’s a possibility, however in our Hymer there is limited clearance but the bottles are fitted onto a slide out platform, which is a Hymer fitment. It is all flexible stainless pipe work, so fitment could be easily done in the open, then the platform slid into place and locked. The filler is in the middle of the gas locker door. No idea if such a platform would work or fit in a Bailey, but perhaps worth considering.

Of the locker won't take two 11kg then buying two 6kg refillable is quite expensive per kg....as they aren't really any cheaper than the 11kg versions...

in which case, I'd go with DD and have a (say) 25kg underslung tank, giving you at least the equivalent of two large bottles but also giving you an extra outside locker.

uk vans aren't renowned for good outside accessed lockers, this might prove useful for hoses, fluids etc...

Thanks to everyone for their comments and thoughts. I may take up David’s idea about joining the Bailey Facebook group. Failing that i will probably fit an 11 and a 6 as i know that will fit. Thanks.

Easiest thing is to drive the MH to a supplier and ask to try 2 x 11kg on the proviso that, if they fit, you'll have them...

I certainly did this with an 11kg gaslow in my first Bolero..
