    It’s so annoying isn’t it Nellie😡 All it takes is a polite call to keep an owner informed. It’s no wonder more are using deposits or asking for up front payments, which has a knock on effect for all of us who use CLs extensively.

    Interesting comment about the new members - I wonder if it will improve next year?

    I have booked today (for the next October dates) for a site two miles away from Ranting Man. No problem, lovely lady, I offered a deposit but she doesn't want one until next year.

    Glad you got sorted, Liz, his loss is some else's gain.

    I agree with you, tda. This trip we were only asked by 3 out of 15 CLs for a deposit, but I she a larger percentage will be asking for them in the future, because no shows.

    From my experience of booking a Club site this summer, it seems that people book and cancel on a whim. Sites that seem fully booked suddenly have space and when you turn up at a “full” site there are spaces available. It’s inevitable that this behaviour will carry over to CLs whose owners can ill afford cancellations. They are victims of the main sites booking system.
