Some might find this Andrew Ditton YouTube Review of the Thetford iNDUS waste water and toilet waste system interesting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1FQMdHrY1E0 It is quite a departure from the cassette toilet system we have been used to for the last 20/30 years. In the review it was fitted to high end motorhome so whether it will work it's way down to the more affordable ranges remains to be seen but I imagine that was the same when they started to introduce the cassette toilets. The system makes use of the grey waste water to flush the toilet and incorporated is a much larger than normal fixed black water holding tank. The toilet incorporates a macerator and when emptying the black waste goes first and is then flushed by the grey waste. The purpose of the system is to allow longer between emptying. Andrew goes through the pros and cons.

    Morning

very similar to American rv's DK. I have installed an inline macerator which works in a similar way. Empty black tank through macerator then empty grey which flushes the black tank and pipework. Macerators don't like wet wipes!

The only places in the UK where you are likely to find a black waste facility is a river/canal marina. Rare as hen's teeth on caravan sites.

It seems to me from the video that the waste is emptied down a standard motorhome waste point? Assuming that a site is on mains drainage the grey and black waste surely end up in the same place? Because of the chemical dosing system there should be no smell which I imagine would be a major complaint if untreated.

JK I have seen an American video  of an RV emptying its waste at a service area and as you say it employs a similar system, whether they use chemicals I don't know?

Whilst I can see this being employed in more up market motorhomes I wonder wonder if it will ever be a standard fitting in all motorhomes like the cassette has become. Payload could be an issue with larger tanks? One interesting point from the video was that there was no need for the toilet to be placed against an outside wall like there is with a cassette which might lead to more innovative layouts?

I watched all the video and realise we each have to provide our own fairly large pinch of salt.

The same as  pumped waste on some club sites, cost a lot of money to keep having contractors into clear the pumps of wet wipessurprised which in turn will result in increased site chargeswink
