Totally overlooked a clause on the cover restrictions.  It states "Limit of cover" for contents: £1,000.00 however an Isabella Magnum porch awning cost nearly £1500 so where does that leave you or am In getting confused with the definition of what the CAMC regards as contents ?

Crikey! £1500 for a porch awning?!! surprised

Is it made out of the finest silk produced by specially cultivated mulberry silkworms? Or does it have poles made of gold?

I flogged our old porch awning, only used once, for £60 earlier this year, feel a bit miffed now! laughing

I always thought that the awning was covered under 'caravan and equipment' - the awning being part of the equipment.  I have certainly included the cost of our awning in the overall level of cover I have for our caravan etc.

That’s what I did with the sat dome on our Cadiz, also the power mover. I thought contents referred to things like aquarolls, wastemaster, TV, kettle toaster etc.

Obviously you have never bought an Isabella awning.  LOL!  However thanks to the others for clearing up my concern about contents.  laughing

£1500, try a Fortex and you could be looking at £2500.

I had default cover when my van was written off in an accident in Germany in 2008. The problem was repatriating everything as the club expected us to throw EVERYTHING away and they'd give me a cheque for £600. In other words the only possessions we'd be able to keep were those we could cram in the car.

That would have represented a huge financial loss but the red pennant helpline came up with a great workaround for us. They suggested we buy a trailer, up to £600, which red pennant would pay for and then bring as much gear back as possible in it and the car. We took this advice and the only thing we didn't get back was a pvc groundsheet.

When we got back we also paid £15 to the club for the trailer as they would only have scrapped it because it was technically theirs as the insurance paid for it. It was a lot of messing about at the time but at then end of the day I lost a very cheap groundsheet but gained an extremely cheap, well built covered trailer out of it.
