New 26yr old in Derbyshire
Hello All,
I joined this club as im very close to getting my first caravan, My cars ready to go (tow bar fitted on 14/08) got mirrors on the way and number plates on the way also. Looking at getting a fairly cheap 4 berth caravan at first mainly for my hobby which is as a reenactor, but also to go on holidays with my boyfriend up and down the country for weekends away etc...
If anyone's got any tips for a new member ill be grateful, i know a little already about towing being a Class 1 HGV driver, although I know towing a caravan will be a totally different experience.
Also if anyone knows of any decent 4 Berth Cheap caravans let me know

A good way to follow your re-enactment life!😁 And to have some nice holidays. Once you get sorted out with your outfit, take a look in the Certificated Location Sites section, as well as the main Club Sites. We have met up with a few people who enjoy re-enactment events down the years, including a whole Morris Dancing Troupe touring the SW. Do let us know what you are involved with, always interesting. Welcome👍

Great to hear from you Lyrinx and all the best for your first caravan purchase. It would be useful to try and take an experienced caravanner with you when you get your caravan. At the moment, caravans are in relatively short supply, so it's not the best time to pick up a bargain. In particular check caravans for damp (with a damp meter) and avoid like the plague. Personally, I would buy from a dealer with some form of warranty, so you have some form of 'come back' should there be major problems.
Do let us know how you get on with it all.

Thanks Takethedogalong, i do World War 2 Reenacting as a soviet engineer, mainly in central/north England.
Thanks David, I know someone through my reenacting who is helping me with choosing and checking them out, I'm in no rush to get one, I'll probably end up purchasing around January February time

That’s an unusual role😁 Do you ever get up to Pickering War Week? Great event, especially using railway.
Enjoy, hope you get a van sorted out soon.
