Cornwall/Devon
We fancied a holiday to either Cornwall or Devon but apparently you can hardly move for TV " Celebrities " or their camera crews. The sooner these people can get back to their normal jobs the better.

Well, that’s news to me.
You will find a few if you visit places like Rock but your post is way off the mark, Elliodme. In fact, I’m not sure why you posted those inaccurate words, tongue in cheek or not.🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️

loads of room in north Devon and not a "tv celebrity" in sight. Strange post indeed.

Have none of you got a sense of humour, have you not noticed all the TV Celebrities telling us about Cornwall and Devon as if we have never heard of them, lighten up

I have a sense of humour and don't need to be told to "lighten up" - that's rather rude, btw.
Had you posted in the much more appropriate Fun & Trivia, It would have been obvious you were on a leg pull and I would simply have dismissed it as trivia and moved on.

The gardener came yesterday and the cleaning lady is due today, but I would hardly call either of them celebrities. Other than that we haven’t seen a soul all week.
The point is that there are parts of Cornwall with hordes of tourists at the moment and other parts where there are no visitors at all. By all means come on down, but be selective about where you go.1 -
Celebrity endorsements can be useful - it’s a useful ‘heads up’ on places best avoided.

Sorry I did not post in exactly the right section
tinwheeler , do you criticise every post or are you just a bit grumpy .

As far as I am concerned, the most fantastic creature to be seen off the Devon and Cornwall coast, (and a few more nice places) is Wally the Walrus! Now he is a truly memorable visitor.
So called celebs have always been around in Cornwall, they are like the rest of us, like to visit (and sometimes live) in gorgeous places. I have lost count of how many TV and film stars we have seen or shared a ferry with down the last 30 years or so.

Brue, he will likely do exactly the same things that they all rather boringly do. Same pretty locations, same areas, same startled look on the face as they “find” something that the rest of the UK visited thirty years ago. I do like Paul Merton, hopefully he won’t play quite so safe.

I responded in the way I did because I couldn’t understand the reason for your post and I was not alone. Grumpy, no, I don’t think so but just wondering what your MO is as it’s a very strange thing to post, especially in UK Sites & Touring🤷🏻♂️. There you go, that’s me being logical in the face of incredulity.

He’s not quite Tom Cruise (most recent A list visitor apparently), but an interesting character in many ways for sure.

A couple of years ago we spoke to Chris Chittell and Lesley Dunlop (Eric Pollard and Brenda Walker - from Emmerdale) at Roskillys on the Lizard.
A few years ago we were also pitched next to Brian Capron (serial killer, Richard Hillman from Corrie) at a site in Buxton. He was in a show at Buxton Opera House and stayed at the site in his Motorhome.
I've actually quite enjoyed some of the recent spare of celebrity travel programmes, although they are a little 'shallow'.
Cornwall does appear to be very busy at the moment.

I wouldn't have known any of that bunch from Adam.

The sooner I can get back across the Channel the better!

Yes, apparently about +25/30% on usual visitor numbers at this time of year and ‘usual’ is too busy for some.

Whilst in Devon a few weeks ago we went to Hartland Abbey Gardens where they were filming Enid Blyton's 'Mallory Towers' for TV. It was fascinating to see the dozens of vehicles providing lighting, sound, wardrobe etc etc and to see a bit of the filming in front of the Abbey. The only time we were restricted in our movements about the place was if we were likely to be 'in shot'.
