Bunree site
We have booked Bunree for next year and plan to take the scenic railway from Fort William one day. We are in a motorhome . What will the parking be like in Fort William for the van please, will this be difficult ? Or is public transport or a taxi an option ? Not sure how far the site is from the station ?

Take a look at Google Earth to get an idea of the lie of the land and distances.
As I remember, the station is slightly to the north of the town and I don’t know what the parking situation is there but to the south of the town centre there is a huge car park which frequently has MHs parked up.
You can always ask the wardens for advice once you're on site.

Found this, LINK it does get busy in the main season but if you get to FW well before the journey I'm sure you'll be ok. I think a taxi would be an expensive option. There is a bus and I expect you can find the timetable somewhere on line (Oban to Fort William) or as TW suggests, ask on site.

We did the Jacobite train earlier this year.
There is a big carpark for MH parking next to the railway station between Morrison's and Lidl supermarkets. It is a 2 minute walk from there to the station.
When doing the train journey I would go for the morning train, leaves around 10.15 and returns around 16.15. We indulged ourselves as it was a birthday treat. First class seats with a table for 2 and cream teas.
A tip for those thinking of doing the journey, the train does not turn round at Mallaig. The Engine does go from the front and moves to the rear, now front of the train for the return. This means you get the same view on the return as you do on the outward journey. The tables for 2 are on the left hand side on the way to Mallaig (the more scenic side) The tables for 4 are on the other side. A lot of folk think the train turns round and they will get the scenic side on the return, they don't.
It was a great day out and worth the cost, we had 2 hours in Mallaig where we went on an hour long boat trip. We saw seals and a porpoise. The weather was good thankfully. There are a number of places to eat in Mallaig including a number of fish and chip shops.

For those on a budget there’s a very ordinary train from Fort William to Mallaig at 0830 - a diesel rail car not heritage steam, no cream teas but exactly the same route and same scenery. Day return fares start at £15.40

We to have recently stayed at Bunree, June 2nd - 7th & also travelled on the Jacobite.
Was too late to book 1st Class for the treats but whilst it was an experience it is was a little 'underwhelming'..... wasn't particularly impressed with Mallaig either, a few touristy shops & places to eat but not much else....
Only had about 1 hour 45 mins there so was a bit concerned about doing the boat trip!!!
As others have said there is a car park (Aird 2) I think, it is next to Morrisons or the larger one on the left right on the roundabout just before you enter the town.
You can see the motorhome parking spaces from the road, I think it was £6 for the day, until 2100, from there it's a 15 min walk to the station....
Don't use a taxi from site, 20 quid one way
& it's only about 8 miles.We done the NC500 & found plenty of Morrisons to refuel except once.

- There is a bus stop 10 minutes walk from the site into Fort William and stops behind Morrisons next to station. Bus timetable online and in the site information room. We've used it. It's cheap and fine if the weather is ok. 👍
