Toilet Cleaning Duty Anyone?
Clean your own lavatories, begs holiday park owner
Guests asked to muck in if members of staff are in self-isolation because of a ‘ping’ from NHS Covid app
MOST people look forward to relaxing and leaving the housework behind when they go away on holiday.
But guests at Mother Ivey’s Bay Holiday Park in Cornwall have been asked to pack their rubber gloves and get stuck into cleaning the communal lavatories after staff were forced to self-isolate by the NHS’s Test and Trace app.
The owner of the holiday park in Padstow warned prospective guests that their stay was at risk of being cancelled unless they agreed to the new conditions. In an email headed “Dunkirk Spirit” the holiday park appealed for volunteers to “help clean toilet blocks” amid a potential staff shortage over the summer.
