Just had three wonderful nights at Meathop Fell, lovely site and lovely weather, I also wondered if anyone else had made use of the free foot and sometimes lower leg wash when using the hosepipes at chemical disposal and also waste water disposal. What is the point of the chrome fitting that allows this, all it seems to do is waste water , and wet my feet .cry

Anti-syphon hose connections. But the club sites are the only places I've ever seen them .. as you say, they're hopeless.

Try not to kink the pipe. It's the kink that causes a blockage which then flows back to the escape point, hence wet feet.

I agree they are a nuisance and I also have never seen them on commercial sites

I wonder how much money the club has in my opinion wasted on these fittings and they say we can't have free WiFi .

I was told the use of anti syphon devices is a requirement under the regulations of some water companies. If that is so, the club has no option but to use them where required.

So water companies are requiring the use of a device that wastes water even if pipe is not linked, what a world we are living in.

I've no idea of the specific regulations but if they are a requirement, I'd have thought they'd be available in B&Q/etc What you can buy in B&Q and elsewhere though is an outside tap that has a none return valve built in to prevent water from entering the tap from a hosepipe etc .... which is what the anti syphon gizmo on club sites is for.
