Feed the Birds

When I am on site for a duration I was thinking about plonking one of these spikes just outside the van front window with bird feed hanging off it.  Does anyone else feed the birds when out in the van?

There are plenty of folk who do just that KP. In fact on one CL that we stayed on this year the site owner provided both the feeder and the feed. Mind you she did have over 25 nest boxes attached to her shed and whilst on site did put up a Little Owl nestbox after we informed her that we had seen and heard one.

    Go ahead and instal away.

Brilliant, I thought I would be taking the .... somewhat and it would be frowned upon. Many thanks for your response.

We always take a small feeder with us when away in the ‘van, usually hanging it from a tree or fence.

On our last trip, we had to refill it daily, fantastic number of birds feeding from it.

I’ve often thought about buying a collapsible pole to use for the feeder,  but haven’t seen anything suitable. Any suggestions very welcome.

    🙂

Maybe if feeding sunflower seeds choose the hearts (seed coat removed) to avoid the mess of black husks beneath the feeder?

Presumably you have spikes attached to the roof of your outfit to ward off the Pigeons etc?undecided

There are plenty of people who find calling cards on their vehicles who have no interest whatsoever in birds.
