Hi All, I have just received my provisional licence for a C1+E licence, looking to drive a motorhome over 3,500kg and tow a trailer over 750kg. Can anyone recommend where or who I could use to obtain my theory and practical training course. I am based in South Bucks. Many thanks.

No one has replied for over 24 hours and I live many miles away, but if I were in your area I would talk to Wallace School of Transport and see what they can offer.

     Morning

Look at the "advice and training" header on the clubs homepage. There are several courses run around the country.

But a bit of gentle to and fro between striped poles in a car park on a Club course won’t get you through a C1 + E driving test on the real roads outside.

IMHO the need for additional training for towing larger caravans & driving larger motorhomes is more money spinner than making roads safer. The vast vast majority here manage to drive & tow larger vehicles after taking just one test (many many years ago 🙄)

I'm glad to said in your opinion. I see many many outfit drivers that could really do with training, sometimes (in my opinion) they're just not safe. The amount of damage that occurs on site due to dodgy driving always amazes me, and funnily enough those drivers passed the test many many years ago.

Under advice and training on the website, look at training courses, there are as you mention caravan and motorhome maneuvering courses but also B+E courses to which I was referring. Case of look before you leap?

Find a training school near you that can provide the necessary information and arrange the training and tests that you will require. They will also be able to advise you as to the type of vehicle & trailer required for the training & test.

Don't forget you now have to pass a theory test for each new category you want to add to your licence.

but that dodgy driving would probably be performed without a caravan too ... 🙄 I passed my test 42 yrs ago & apart from the odd speed awareness course 🙄🙄 I've not been required to have any more training.
