Hi can anyone help me please?

I have a Bailey approach 765 motorhome and I’ve had to replace the leisure batteries. Now I have no power at all? Am I missing something? I’ve checked the fuses and it works fine with engine running or on mains!

tottaly baffled😩😩

What is it that isn’t working? The 12v lights, 12v sockets, water pump…..? Does the fridge work on 12v when the engine is running?

Everything that should work off the battery doesn’t work unless engine running or connected to mains..

Daft as it may sound but are you sure that the battery is holding a charge, and you haven't been sold a dud, or have you connected the terminals the right way round,? as mistakes do happen!!

The 765 was last produced in 2016 so after 5 years  ( and depending on how things have been looked after) the battery has probably had it. There should be a charge going to the leisure battery when the engine is running and whilst on mains. You should be able to check the state of the battery via the control panel with the  engine off and 230V mains not connected. When connected to the mains the 12v system is run from a transformer not the battery so it seems the battery is suspect. You could remove the battery and charge it separately to see what results you get.

Thank you for your replies. We only brought the van in may from a dealer and have only had one outing in it so far. The original batteries had reached the end of their life and wouldn’t charge up. So I rang the dealer who tested them and replaced with new ones. I haven’t had chance to fit them till today and I made sure I put the new ones in exactly how the others came out and this is the result. It looks like I’ll have to return it to them to sort out but just wondered if I was missing something simple… being a novice motorhomer I didn’t want to jump the gun so to speak…
