Repairing Damp
Hi Everyone.
Had our Coachman Laser 650/4 2008 serviced a week ago, the dreaded damp was located in the rear nearside corner. Everything else is perfect. The readings in places were high 60% ....ouch.
I checked for the source & found two small splits in the sealant at the end of the aluminium roof strap covering the roof to rear panel joint, I have covered the entire length (and ends) with Canopus Roof Repair tape. Pretty confident the leak is cured. I have "pricked" the vinyl covering and been ventilating as well as a tray of cat litter in the wardrobe, am now monitoring with "new" moisture meter, the initial readings are higher than the service guy's, probably different machine, but they are now "my" baseline.
At the worse places the wallboard was "soft" i.e the pins could be pushed in the whole length.
Now the question; anybody had a similar experience & did it / will it eventually dry out or; worse case scenario probably 2 boards would have to be removed / replaced along with any damaged timber etc.
Does anybody have any idea of what a likely cost would be.
Here's hoping & thanks in advance.
Regards Mick
