Hi

Looking to buy a light van with a fixed bed and best option seems to be Bailey. Specifically either a Discovery D-4 or a Jive (2017). Like both but Jive (think it's a pursuit with a few tweaks) looks better option. Told D4 salesman I was looking at a Jive and he suggested damp problems/build quality. Went to see it and was surprised to see it was also a Bailey and the 2nd salesman said that they're both built the same way! Is that so or more sales talk?

Anyway would be glad of any experience of either van or brand. Thanks in advance.

    Hi,

The Jive is a dealer special sold new by Ropers Leisure World, both vans are Bailey alutech construction so yes they are built the same way with the same materials for the bodyshell.  Not aware of damp issues specific to either, although some early alutech models suffered with damp in the floor of the front lockers, and some later ones with damp in the floor of the shower, (can't remember which model).  The floor is the only part of an alutech van that has wood.

We're on our 3rd alutech model, (1 olympus & 2 unicorns) and haven't suffered with damp in any of them.  Had a few snagging issues with them all, but have been very pleased with all them all.
