Towing weight - again
Hi all - apologies for yet another towing thread, but we are heading out tomorrow with the caravan on our first ever excursion and this topic seems to be more confusing the more you research it.
We have a hyundai i800, and from what I can gather , these are the weight stats for the car:
Towing Weights for the Hyundai i800 (08 - now) 2.5 CRDi Style 5d
Towing Car Weights IconKerb weight: 2238 kg's
Un-braked Manufacturers towing capacity: 750 kg's
Braked Manufacturers towing capacity: 2300 kg's
75% of Kerb weight: 1678.5 kgs
85% of Kerb weight: 1902.3 kgs
95% of Kerb weight: 2126.1 kgs
There are four weights specified on the label of the drivers door, but nothing that describes what they are:
3030KG
5330KG
1-1600KG
2-1780KG
For the Caravan (20 yrs old):
MIRO: 1025
MTPLM: 1300
Does this mean that the max weight of the caravan can be 1300?

Yes!
More detailed answers are available!!
Seriously, you have no issues weight wise as far as 'guidelines' etc so long as the vans MTPLM-maximum technically permitted laden mass- is 1300kg or less.
So far as the label-may be GVW, max permissible weight of car when loaded, the GTW-gross weight of car + whatever you are towing and the others possibly front and rear axle max loads.
Have a great trip!

the four weights in the driver's door reveal are:
3030kg is the max weight the vehicle can be
5330kg is the gross train weight ie you & your caravan can't be more than this
1600kg is max front axle weight 1780kg is the max rear axle weight

If you forget all this, ESC, you can easily look it up on Google.
