I wonder if anyone can recommend parking for a 7mtr motorhome. We are planning to walk up Snowdon about 4 weeks time. The route we take may depend on parking. Your usual advice would be much appreciated.

Llyn Gwynant campsite has some hard standing motorhome pitches and is within walking distance of the foot of the mountain, but some routes up Snowdon are not mere walks.

Thank you both for the info. Very helpful. We are attempting The 3 peaks challenge. However as we are getting older we are doing 3 Peaks in 3 weeks and not 24 hrs. Snowdon, Scarfell pike and Ben Nevis. We have booked our sites so now planning the parking. Any helpful info much appreciated.

Have you thought about looking at your preferred departure point on Google Earth? It might just give you an impression of the parking nearby and then you could enquire if a particular parking area was suitable and that motorhomes were allowed.

Easiest parking for a 7 metre Motorhome is probably going to be on a campsite - two have been mentioned, both on the route of the Sherpa bus up to Pen y pass and start walking there. Why start walking there? Because it's about 1200 feet above sea level and that's already a third of the height of the summit.

I would research your route very carefully up Snowdon. Where to park your MH will be the least of your worries. Last time we were on Snowdon, a female walker had fallen off Crib Goch route, broken back. Full helicopter and Mountain Rescue out. Be prepared to queue at the top as well, to get onto the actual summit. It was a procession up most of the routes, far too many folks on the paths for it to be enjoyable.

Good luck with your challenge, hope you get less busy days for all three.

It looks like it may become necessary to book a parking space -
