Max Outfit size - what does it mean exactly?

Apologies if this has been asked before, but can't find a definition anywhere in the book. Exmoor House has a max outfit size of 9 meters. Does this refer to the caravan only ( hope so), or does it mean the car & caravan? I'm 12 meters - 4 car and 8 caravan. Help please!!

Paul

It means the size of the unit that will need to fit on the pitch, ie MH or caravan - not the car.

Sometimes the size restriction might be because of the manoeuvring space available to get onto the pitch rather than the pitch size itself.

Thanks Tinwheeler. Thought so but just checking. Not bothered about manoeuvering, got a mover.

It's important that you state the length of your unit when completing the booking process so that the system ensures there is an adequately sized pitch available for you on arrival.

    Jill

Booked through the club website, which surely uses the size of my caravan on my record? It certainly shows the 'van at the booking stage so I assume that info is availabe to the site warden?

It sure is, that's why I asked. I understand my "outfit" to be the towing length in other applications (ferry / tunnel booking etc).

Some sites show Max size they can accomodate, iwhich may only be one pitch  so it would always pay to contact the site you are booked into if you have a long LV as the staff can then plan ahead to accomodate you ,as they may not see your big LV until the day you arrivesurprised
