Hi we are new to caravaning and have a Hymer Nova 465 2007. We want an awning and are confused as to what to go for. The caravan is in storage and we are not able to just turn up to measure. Please could anyone give any advice or recomendations as to what to look at

Many thanks

Nicky

    As per AD's suggestion.

Do you need a full length model specific awning. If not then one of the generic Air awnings that only fit into your awning track along the top edge would be fine and your options open up. The cost goes down and you eliminate the chance of damaging the side of your new pride and joy by a falling awning pole hitting it.

It is also worth measuring the height of awning rail from the ground.   A quirk of Hymer’s design is that the awning rail is below the level of the roof.   This can mean that air awnings air a little too high.   Another quirk of our 2007 Nova was it had 2 channels both sides never understood that one of the channels was wider than a normal awning Chanel.

Nicky.  AD has given the options  If going for an awning which slides only along the top rail the max size you can get is the straight length along the top. This could result in the drop of the awning covering a window you can see this from Jill's picture where the drop would be over the window.  Some people do not want this as it could scratch the window.  My Kampa pole awing covers a window and in the 8 yrs I have been using it has not marked the window, but that is my risk.  Suggest you visit a dealer to see the options available.

PS if you go into 'My Profile' in the 'Useful Info' at the top of this page, you can give yourself a catchy name rather than the 'Screen Name' you were given.
