I have recently bought a 2012 Fiat Ducato minibus and am planning to convert to a motor home. I am based in York.  Does anyone know of reliable conversion companies in North/South Yorkshire, Lancs. I am happy to work with individuals who do part conversions. Electrics. Plumbing etc.

In all honesty, Kayde, I think you would be better off getting something like MMM { Motorcaravan  & Motorhome Monthly } and/or Practical Motorhome. They will have adverts etc BUT also staff and contributors with loads of technical knowledge to help you along .

    Good Luck,

One of our number, Peedee by name, posted elsewhere that he would be inclined to use " Motorhomefun "  where several folks with your ideas also post regularly.  -- He will doubtless, appear when he's had a fresh coffee  smile

Thanks ABM , no idea how it appeared in the wrong place

    This is what I posted

I would also post onto a forum dedicated to motorhomes. Try >Motorhomefun<, there are quite a few self build posters on there who I feel sure could point you in the right direction. There is a section dedicated to self builds, even a look through that might provide useful information

Kayde,a bit further north is Devon Conversions in Co.Durham.They offer the option to do a conversion on your own van.We used to own a Nu-Venture(Campers)  Utopia which was a bespoke conversion on a Renault Master carried out near Wigan. Not sure if they still operate but we were satisfied with it during our six years of ownership. We have gone back to  "mainstream" now with an Autosleeper for a variety of reasons, with which I will not burden you.

There are probably lots of videos on YouTube that would give you a few ideas of how much you could do and how much you might want to contract out. There are several companies that sell components for converting vans in to accommodation.

    Good Luck
