OH wanted some close ups of what is left flowering in the garden so here is a small selection, most of which are still being enjoyed by the flying brigade. The Grandmas Bonnet leaves are here mainly for the composition and complimentary colours of the leaves. She's a painter so you have to forgive her.😁

MMy Cyclamen are doing well pushing through the self sown!
SSadly My parents roses aren't. I've fed them, liquid fed them including the leaves - different times soncd noticing and kept them watered. They were doing great last year. I'm hoping it's just this year 🤞. @Takethedogalong any suggestions?
Foxgloves anyone?
LLight Wasn't great for the rose photos. Will try again when the sun's moved.

@Bakers2 dont worry. I think it’s just the weather that’s upsetting the roses, mine and Mum’s are exactly the same, some have no leaves left at all, despite them being one of my spot watering plants. I have started to pick of the horrible yellow leaves, and pick up those that have fallen off. I am cutting off the tips of some branches, and after a spot water, nice healthy new growth is coming through. I don’t think it’s been quite as parched here as where you are, and my soil is very good, doesn’t dry out quickly.
@Wherenext some photos, if any of these are ok for your OH…….I love different leaf textures as well, variations in the foliage colours……..
Bananas do grow in Yorkshire🤭
Pineapple plants and a painted fern. Excuse the naff fairy, it’s a family joke, she spends more time in the pond than out!
Not sure what these giant yellow flowers are, might be some sort of Helenium, but they stand around 6 ft tall.
Japanese Anemones. These were in the garden when we moved in, over 41 years ago, and I have dotted them around garden, as they enjoy shady spots as well as sunshine, and can cope with the dry.
Stunning pink Carnations, this is a replanted area in new border. The little tuft bottom left is that nice black grass, so once established will look nice alongside pink.
Heleniums. I got these plants for 50p each last Autumn, in Chuck out area of our local nursery. Some TLC and they are now thriving. Extreme left is a rose, next to no leaves😕
My very last yellow hollyhock flower for this year. One for an artist?

@Takethedogalong thanks, I thought probably it's this year. I, not recently!, removed tips and leaves as I deadhead. I'll carry on carrying on. Not much else I can do! I have manure mulch awaiting the soil having a good soak. Might be going on in the new year or further ahead at this rate!
LLove Your photos, we have the 'perennial sunflower' as I call it. I brought it with me, a gift from a friend's garden. This year it's barely made 3 foot, but still putting on a good show.
I like contrast leaves in the garden but tend to go variegated and shape rather than textures.
I love the banana. Has it showed signs of fruit in this strange summer. A friend in NZ has one, but even theirs never actually ripen despite trying to produce.

No, my banana has never shown signs of baby bananas, but a friend’s daughter is an absolute wizz at getting her’s to fruit, although never ripe enough to eat. She lives around 7 miles away, so same climate. I love your self seeded cyclamen, I seem to have Bronze Fennel seeding everywhere this year, have dug a few up and brought them on in pots, but the tap roots go deep. I have to wrap the Banana up well for Winter. Might try a red one in garden next year.

@Takethedogalong ,”Might try a red one in garden next year.” I assume you mean the Abyssinian? They are quite tender and will need shelter for the winter. We had one, which I dug up before the frosts and kept it in the garage. I planted it back out the following spring and it was fine, quite impressive. The problem came when it was time to dig it up again. The trunk was so big (about 15” across?), it was impractical to try to save it, considering the trunk was only going to get bigger year on year. Lovely plants though.

Yes, that’s the one. I had one indoors for a few years, but it got to big for bathroom and I lost it even in greenhouse. That was a very hard Winter here, 2010, we had six weeks of hard frost, not much survived to be honest. Depends if I can find one cheap, they are a bit of a price now to risk. My Musa was a £2 baby bought from roadside in Cornwall, and it had a couple of years indoors, then I planted it out after advice from friends daughter. She has a red one that’s doing well outside. Well wrapped though.
