Adobe Flash Player - End of Life
After many months of asking (via Customer services) for the IT department to address the 'Adobe Flash Player End of Life' ....in order that members can remove/amend their profile picture....and not one reply received.....I have today made a final request via the 'live chat'.
The agent says she will forward (again) my request to the relevant management team....and In response I have given a weeks grace before I send a note to the DG.. I will keep you informed.
FYI (if not aware)...It is now over a year since Adobe first gave notice that Adobe Flash Player will no longer be supported (EoL) after 31 December 2020...

I admire your persistence, GTP.

Have you tried changing your avatar photo GT? It’s impossible (always has been for me) on an IPad, but I did manage to change mine using our Mac Book mid January, and the new one now shows on the IPad as well. No idea how all this works, or doesn’t in the case of the IPad, but it worked for me🤷♀️

TDA....thats what I have been trying to achieve for the last few months...both the car and caravan in the photo are out of date. I was told that you could get the job done via a Mac that still had adobe Flash Player installed... but both OH and myself upgraded our Macs in July of last year..Me to a new iMac Pro 27"...OH to a Macbook Pro.....neither would allow a download of Flash Player...

I have not dared change my avatar, mine was drawn 23 years ago! I have raised your post with Rowena to see if she can provide further information. I suspect the main issue is not only that Flash has ended but the current software for this forum is probably equally outdated and whether there is a possibility to tweak? Clearly some people manage to change avatars on a regular basis I wonder if they are doing so on Windows machines?

Thank you for reporting David....I would agree with your suspicions re the forum software....but given the numbers using it, I can understand why EG has very little interest in any upgrade. That said...the club is continually encouraging members to use the forum and as such should make the platform user friendly in all aspects....
A contact from my old team (who spent most of his life writing 'scripts') tells me that my particular problem is that I have updated my hardware after Adobe cut the link for any Flash Player download. Any machine, either Mac or Windows which still has Flash Player installed....should continue to work...Adobe has only stated that they no longer support the software.....hence no download for new hardware. Hope that makes sense. !!
I think like yourself...I will create a 'timeless' Avatar for future use

Ah, that might be the answer. Ours is an old Mac Book. Good luck with it, given how popular IPads are, it’s a shame such things cannot be done on them. Not sure if that’s an Apple or a Club issue.

Mine is beginning to take on a Dorian Gray quality, being about twelve years old now. Anyone hoping that this issue will be resolved has greater confidence in CAMC IT than I have.

Ditto....And the response (or not) from management teams via customer services...is totally unacceptable for an organisation such as the CaMC. Using 'working from home' is not a valid argument ...I am in my 15th year of retirement and I used to work remotely then most days of the week...twice a week aboard the Master Cutler (I really do miss the breakfast) en route to London, hotels, and at home. Conference calls were regular between our distance offices..
Edit..Remote working (Access via internet) aboard the Master Cutler was only possible in the last couple of my working years...but even then I could respond to emails during the 2hr 10min journey..

Hi everyone,
I'm so sorry for the issues you've all experienced with this. There should hopefully be a fix implemented by the end of next week but I'm waiting for confirmation. I will keep you all updated.

Well...as expected there has been no reply to neither my email to customer services or directly to Live Chat.... except for Rowena's post...which has also failed to get a response...
My next port of call is the DG...given that I cannot find anyone else accountable. (if anyone knows of a director who is responsible for IT matters, please let me know)...
As the DG is a fellow Yorkshireman, used to live down't road..I shall pen the email in true Yorkshire dialect. I appreciate he has decamped to the South...but he should get the gist...
Just discovered that you cannot email the DG directly (unless someone knows otherwise)..so I will have to send via customer services...will he receive it ?..

I always use this site for any CEO's address, a very useful tool for when I wish to complain. It has come in useful with lots of companies!

Another ploy is to use snail mail addressed "Strictly Personal & Confidential" sent by recorded delivery. I've used that tactic in the past successfully.

Got it! I cleared my browsing history/website data and the butterfly vanished. The trees appeared after a couple of refreshes. (Android phone)
PS. Where is that view, Brue?

I just changed mine from this to this, didn't show until I cleared my cache and logged in again. Windows 10.
Yep, now showing Brue
