Can you explain why some CL's, yes CL's, operating under exemption certificates provided by other organisations are able to offer the service?

Legally? as i would expect it would come under a "change of use" planning application

I can't but can you show me details of one that does? Can you also show that they are offering the service under that club's exclusion from planning?

I can't say that I have seen anywhere on my travels (other than some CCC sites offering the service and I have not seen much take up. Does not mean that they are not used I appreciate.

Can you provide a link to the law or regulation that says they can't provide the service under the exemption certificate?

Nope, we wash up in a bowl, and then this is disposed of rather than down into grey waste tank. It stops pipes clogging up and smells. Something we learned with our onboard tanks on caravan.👍

Have a guess, there are plenty of options, but let’s see if you ascribe the correct choice to us.......

Just a few clues......we don’t wild camp, we hate litter, we are concerned about the environment, we like to leave nothing but footprints, we like to make sure we are welcome to revisit CLs, we try to think about those who might use the pitch next........🤔

    That should help........🤣

Dumping soap and especially detergent into the ground can poison the soil.  Not very eco friendly.

Your link should work for me then. Although I somehow doubt its existence.

A few of the newer CLs are fitting M/H disposal points and advertise so in their literature, but doubt that they were thinking of allowing them to be used by the dump, fill and run brigrade.

Biggarmac. Regarding sites last summer I think Scotland suffered a disproportionate amount of site closures due to Covid but an increased amount of motorhome visitors? South of the border more sites stayed open and I don't think finding a pitch somewhere was so much of a problem unless heading for the SW counties. But under normal circumstances with all venues open including rallies and festival sites would you really need extra CL provisions to keep you on the road or is it just a preference for not using sites by certain individuals?

You are right in saying that the problems were compounded by many sites not opening in Scotland last summer particularly around the NC500.  This summer we will have many of the people who are usually on the continent as they will not be able to do their usual long tours being limited to 90 days in 180.  Others say they will not feel safe to go abroad.  The sales of motorhomes and caravans have been one of the growth industries.  Glastonbury has been cancelled so we will have the festival tent campers who were blamed for much of the "dirty camping " in 2020.  The total camping market will all be looking for somewhere to stay.  Caravanners and tent campers need the facilities which campsites and rallies provide.  Motorcaravanners can manage for 3-4 days without taking up scarce campsite provision.  Making more facilities available for self sufficient motorcaravans helps the whole market.
