Outfit matching service

well im a bit bemused. Th CC outfit matching service seems to have an odd anomaly whereby it refers to the “kerbweight” of the vehicle when making a calculation.

Firstly the kerbweight is not recorded on the vehicle manufacturer plate under the bonet. Only the Gross weight, axle weights and train weights. The kerbweight is a variable figure. With just one driver, no luggage and an empty fuel tank =kerbweight X. With five adults on board + luggage and a full fuel tank =kerbweight Z

so please explain why you are making this false calculation? When I was a serving officer vehicles were only ever overweight when they exceeded the plated weights of the vehicle. I am completely mystified by this and feel a lot of people are buying the wrong car based on this mis information.

The KW is used merely as a guide, DP. It has no standing in the legalities of towing but I don’t believe it is variable in the manner you describe.

Why not contact the club directly to get a definitive answer?
