Great Customer Service from Aguri
I have experienced fantastic customer service from Aguri via their base in Manchester. In August 2018 when I purchased our motorhome, I bought the Aguri 720 largely because of the built-in dashcam. During its first year it worked well although I was critical of its slow start-up. The database of UK and Continental campsites is easy to use and comprehensive. However, during 2020 performance started to become erratic. Many times the gps failed to locate satellites and even when it managed to pick up signals it would not calculate routes. On the days when it would work, directions became erratic. Sometimes it would suggest turning off a main road onto a side road to immediately turn back on to the main road. Other times it would suggest turning off a main road onto a non-existent side road. Given the unit was 2 years old and out of guarantee i started to research other makes. However, before writing off £280-worth of equipment and spending a similar amount on a new unit I gave Aguri a ring and after explaining the issues I was asked to send the unit back to Aguri’s Manchester base. Ten days later my unit was returned in full working order. The invoice said the “GPS Engine” had been replaced and the software and maps had been updated. The charge on the invoice was NIL.
Thank-you to the staff at Aguri Manchester. Despite the slow start up the Aguri system is a good piece of kit and easy to use.
