we have a 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV. Apart from a classic Triumph TR 6 PI that is our daily driver. Both retired and do about 10000 miles in the Mitsi. We do about 4000 miles towing per year inc. in normal years a visit to the west coast of France. Mitsi tows our 2018 Bailey Brindisi MTPLM 1450 kgs. Mitsi max 1500kg so is ok. Towing on electric runs out at about 15 miles ! From then on it is on petrol plus some small amount of regen from braking and over run.

In summer months with short local journeys the cost of motoring is incredibly low with cost equivalet to 80 - 120 mpg. Motorway driving at legal max gives about 45 mpg solo. A type roads about 38 - 40 mpg. Did all the sums very happy with actual results.

These PHEV cars are used by many CC club owners just check the tow cars on the site you stay on and ask the owners.

Forget charging en route its just not worth the bother. It was not on our agenda when buying. The car ticks all our boxes for now. Hydrogen power will not be generally available for some years.

We are due a change in March and are looking at alternatives.

Ford Kuga, Vauxhall Toyota etc do not have the towing capabilities.

Why they bothered testing the Jaguar E pace I do not understand, just because they could I think !

Volvo XC40  60 & 90 all do but with at  least a £10000 additional cost.

So we are asking for opinions of Mitsubishi PHEV drivers with the larger 2.4 ltr engine with bigger battery what there experiences are please.
