Mi-Fi or Sat dish to Stream/watch TV - Opinions?

Hi - I was just about to book an installation of a Sat-Fi Dome or Snipe 4 satellite system, and someone floated the idea of Mi-Fi/Wi-FI.  The Dome is £1700, while  mi-fi  is £400 plus network/SIM provider cost at circa.£20 p/m. The initial outlay cost looks like a no-brainer but I'm guessing Streaming TV gobbles up the the gigabytes.. Someone mentioned streaming 1 rugby match can be as much as 6GB's  - Any experience, anyone?
