This could impact anyone with a Thule vent.

Here is a very short video uploaded to YouTube for you to see if you have the same vent:

We have been members of the caravan for 25 years and more.

The caravan club rule which direction a caravan must be when on site. Rightly so, for safety and the general good running of the club. I understand. I follow the rules.

We have just returned from a 3 weeks hols in Cornwall.

One night there was a 60 mile an hour wind across the van.

The Thule Omnivent with fan began to tap tap tap on the top of the van in one corner of the vent and we thought it was going to rip off. This was extremely disappointing because of loss of sleep and the risk to the caravan. It's a 'keep calm and carry on' moment.

In contravention against caravan club rules I turned my van into the wind. It did the trick as I thought and the tapping stopped because the wind held the vent down. Not ideal!!

The Vent we have has a screw thread. I can assure this was secure, without being over-tight.

On return from holiday it took me a minute to confirm the source of the tap tap tap. One corner of the vent is free to move. (https://youtu.be/W_IeAXfClAI) BAD DESIGN???? On Thule's part.

Looking through Thule's user manual:
https://www.thule.com/en-gb/motorhome-accessories/comfort-and-security/thule-vent-manual-_-200004
It states that the vent is only waterproof in the driving direction, and that if you transport the caravan in any other direction "you must use something else". WHAT SOMETHING ELSE??

The diagrams in Thule's manuals confirm that there is no way to properly tie the vent cover down tightly in all directions.

I HAVE ASKED THULE TO PLEASE ADVISE ANDCONFIRM HOW I SHOULD SECURE THE VENT?

I urge you to 1) advise a work around 2) fix the bad design 3) provide a solution and recall products for all existing customers.
