Have just read on FB that they wardens have stopped some members from arriving today because some of the pitches are flooded and because of the forecasted very strong winds. I feel sorry for those who had booked for there this weekend.

Winds were forecast to be touching 65-70 mph in parts of coastal East Anglia today. Read a review of a CL put up today where someone had to take refuge in a nearby CL when travelling near Wisbech. Hope those that did venture out were sensible enough to stop as soon as things turned nasty.

We've had strong winds on the west but nothing that bad although we have just had a hailstorm.

Slightly off topic, but just towed from the Peak District to Kent via the Dartford Crossing, winds not too bad,but queued for an hour because they had shut lanes 1 and 3 and leaving lanes 2 and 4 open and speed restrictions of 30mph across the bridge.

Much the same at NYM, Whitby, nth. We chose our favourite grass pitch, 10 days ago before this lot was forecast. We are now on a quagmire with lovely mud oozing up through the awning carpet! Just wondering how on earth I’m going to pack it away tomorrow without getting it absolutely blathered. I was most surprised to see all the units coming and going yesterday given that the winds were round about 60 mph. Just driving across the last of the moors to the supermarket, yesterday was bad enough, without having a van on the back.

    Afternoon

I believe Incleboro  is now closed until next Thursday. We have taken some "refugees" here (Grafham Water) this morning.

Are you in a position to say why it is closed JK? There are no details at all on the web page. I have an interest as going to a holiday cottage not far away, and wondered if more than the site was affected. As I recall, it’s on a hill, so wondered if it was a flash flood? No worries if you cannot say more😁

Incleboro can get very soggy and muddy, only a few hardstandings.

I sincerely hope the travelling conditions had subsided for those folks kicked off Incleboro to make the journey across the flatlands to Grafham.

My van is stuck up at Incleboro. We came home a day early because of the weather and the risk from trees (there were three down when we left). Too windy to risk towing so we had to leave it on site by arrangement with the wardens. Looks like I won't be able to retrieve it until Monday.

Even though we are not there, they are charging the full rate for the pitch at £15.32 per night. As the site is closed I find this disappointing.

It does seem a bit much to charge for one adult when the site is closed. A charge for the pitch would be fair enough.

Hopefully the Club will reflect on that decision over the weekend? It's probably a decision that can't be made locally. Certainly worth contacting the Club direct if there is no change of mind by the time you collect your van.

I suspect it’s just a weekend thing, the Club were very fair with everyone when Exeter Racecourse had to be emptied one time we were there. (Different reason) We were offered a refund of our last night, or move to another nearby Site. We didn’t bother with either as it happened, just moved on. Mind it was only a tenner......

Been to Incleboro many times and, although the ground is well drained, if it rains heavily they can become temporarily waterlogged.

A few years ago we woke up to find our awning was inches deep in water after a night of heavy rain.  We took the carpet up and the weather did turn so managed to get it dry.

We love the site but it can get very wet and very windy.
