    latest science rubbishess the idea that you can catch covid19 from surfaces, but is the science correct?, who know's, always carried antiseptic wipes and sanitisers when visiting facilities block, never had a problem, used the shower maybe 1700 -1800 daily, site we were on had large bottles of sanitiser per shower and you were asked to spray on entry and when leaving, seemed to work well and all sinks had sanitiser and hand lotion per sink. block was cleaned twice per day.

    Given that it would appear people have been absolutely desperate to get away, the likelihood of them choosing to stay home for want of a loo block seems unlikely. More like the Club wanted to keep the high prices rather than adjust them for reduced facilities.

    So why did the club reduce prices on sites that the pools were closed? the plot thickenssurprised

    I don't really see anything wrong in that.The club has lost enough money this year as it is. Whilst we in the main used our own, I had no objection to paying the full amount, I new what I was signing up for. If I had wanted a cheaper holiday without any facilities I would have gone elsewhere. There seemed to be quite a few folk using the facilities and nobody seemed to be forcing them.

    Good hand hygiene is always a good discipline because there are many dangers out there beside COVID!!! Even WHO now seem to be suggesting that surfaces are not a major spreader of COVID 19. That doesn't mean we should let up of the wipes,washing and sanitiser but I do wonder if cleaning all our shopping with wipes etc is really necessary providing we wash our hands afterwards?

    I am not so sure on CMC sites. Before sites reopened I recall expressing the thought that sites should reopen but toilet blocks should remain closed. It didn't get many supporters!!! I have no idea how many people use their own facilities but I wouldn't think they are in the majority. As I say that is based on comments in lots of reviews over the last month or so and observations on site.

    We have converted to using our own facilities, just like we do when we started caravanning over 40 years ago. It’s not a problem, but, as the years pass by, we find it sometimes difficult to transport water to and from our unit. Fully serviced pitches are a godsend, they cost about £5 extra per unit per day. That is about the same as a site with facilities compared with one without. As I don’t use both at the same time perhaps it is time for more sites to provide serviced pitches without toilet blocks.

    There are quite a few CLs out there that now provide that service, Paul, we're on one at the moment, and it's a lot less costly than a club site, especially in high season.
