For my first trip, I chose the Southwest of Scotland. I stopped at Glentrool Base Camp which is about ten miles north of Newton Stewart. Had a fantastic five day stay and was never stuck for somewhere to visit. I have already decided to return at the end of September.

The location is perfectly located for spectacular walks in the hills and forests and within easy reach of lovely beaches. The Mull of Galloway is a good place to visit so is Girvan which has a really nice beach. Wood of Cree is perfect for a strenuous walk and the views from Bruce’s Stone are second to none.

Newton Stewart is only twenty minutes away by road and has both a Sainsbury’s and an Aldi plus lots of local shops such as bakers and butchers.

I thoroughly enjoyed my first trip with my caravan and have already booked my next trip to Angelsey next week.

Happy camping

I notice from your Profile that you have an interest in photography, any chance you could add some pictures to your story?
