I-o-W sites

For obvious reasons we won't be doing our annual pilgrimage to France in September and are now contemplating the Isle of Wight.

The club site would be fine for a couple of nights but wonder if anyone could suggest any coastal sites from which we could access coastal walks and dog-friendly beaches. We don't need all the bells and whistles, just somewhere clean and quiet. Access to a town and public transport would be added bonuses. If you hadn't guessed, we have a small motorhome

Any advice/information gratefully  received.

Thanks in advance.

We have stayed at Southlands but it is a bit remote unless you have a car. The last time we went to the IOW we stayed here http://www.davidklyne.co.uk/waverley_park.html at East Cowes. Depending on your mobility it is up a pretty steep hill but only minutes from the Red Funnel ferry terminal. Buses from East Cowes to Newport which is really the bus service hub for the Island. You can walk down through the campsite and exit onto the shoreline road. Not sure its got much in the way of beaches but that might depend on the tide?

we have stayed at southlands but we like the orchards at newbridge. there are good walks from there and beaches that are dog friendly at freshwater and along the coast road to blackgang chine. have a look at red funnel they do deals for five nights plus ferry included about £230 this time of year . enjoy the isle of wight . dave

This was another campsite I was interested in although have no personal knowledge

    https://www.appuldurcombegardens.co.uk/accommodation/touring/

It is within walking distance of Wroxall which seems to have a have hourly bus service. The only issue I can think of is that access looks a bit tight?
