I bought a mifi box earlier this year for use in the van. Can anyone recommend the best value SIM card for a year's usage and give me an idea of how much data to buy? I will only use my devices for surfing the net, messaging etc. I will not be streaming films or watching tv.

If this post is in the wrong place, please move it.

Thanks in advance for any information/suggestions.

Everyone will give you different recommendation and whats best for them. if your not using for films and video's then you could just tether to your mobile phone and use that data which could be unlimited. I personnaly use a 3 network sim on a contract at £17 a month unlimited data but I also use it at home and cancelled my BT fibre which cost about the same so just unplug the unit and take it away with me.

LL, the OP has already bought his Mifi unit.

Ron, it’s really a case of what suits you best. The 3 Network's Internet On Legs is a popular choice and the sims are often available on Amazon at reasonable prices for varying amounts of data. It’s a PAYG scheme and I believe the 24gb version costs £30-£40 and will last for 2 years, or until the data is used. People say it’s then cheaper to buy another sim rather than to top up.

A browse around the various network providers' websites will give you info of what's available.

True, but he could always go on a contract and use the modem at home as he could use a pay and go the same.

Ron could do lots of things but he's already made his choice for the system that suits him best. Your way is not necessarily best for everyone.

Thanks for the input. I'll go with the 3 network deal I think and, unless anyone knows of a stunning stunning deal elsewhere, let's  leave it at that.

Thanks again. This is a great site for getting information like this.

This is what I have always used too, especially abroad.
