Alko aks 1300 stabilizer issue

Good morning guys,

I have an alko aks 1300 stabilizer.

 

I have just replaced the seal kit and friction pads.

When I turn the ratchet wheel it does pull the pads in but when I pull the lever down there is no resistance it just goes down without any effort.

Has anyone else had this issue
